Having been awarded a very competitive scholarship, he entered the United States Navy Dental Corps following his graduation in 1978 to fulfill his obligation. He returned to Houston in 1981 to begin a private practice in Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry. Since then, he has attended the L.D. Pankey Institute, an elective advanced-learning institute, taking courses to ensure his knowledge and skills are constantly expanding. His practice remains one of the most technically advanced Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry practices in Houston.
