No matter how complicated your dental procedure is, we can accomplish all of your dental care in as little as one appointment. If you choose the sleep dentistry method, you arrive one hour prior to your dental appointment and take a small sedative pill.
We make you comfortable and place you on a monitor to watch your vital signs. When you reach the proper level of relaxation, your dental treatment begins. After your treatment is complete, your driver will get you home so that you may continue sleeping. In most cases, you will remember very little about the dental visit.
If your level of anxiety is greater than what can be controlled with oral medication, the Comprehensive Dental Group of Houston works with several Board Certified anesthesiologists to provide IV sedation for our patients. Deep sedation or general anesthesia performed by a licensed anesthesiologist allows even the most apprehensive patient to complete their dental treatment.
General anesthesia is only recommended for patients who experience an extraordinary fear of dental treatment, who had a prior traumatic dental experience, who has difficulty swallowing, has a fear of injections, needles, noises, smells or tastes associated with dentistry, has complex and extensive dental needs and/or limited time to complete dental treatment.
